This fall I wasn’t in the mood for the typical brown and orange fall decor. I went to Hobby Lobby to look at all things fall, but was not feeling a thing. So….like any creative would do, I got on Pinterest. I searched ‘modern fall decor” and still found nothing I liked.
Then, I came across a picture on Instagram of small, orange pumpkins with bright flowers arranged in them. I decided to put my own twist on it.
Instead of bright, I went with my go-to favorites. Which are natural colors. Greenery with a touch of yellow to be exact. Nice and simple.
First, I cut the tops off of the pumpkins.
Then I let my two toddlers have a hay day taking all of the yuck and seeds out of the pumpkins. I scraped the rest out.
Next, I placed plastic cups (filled half way with water) inside each hole.
Now for the fun part! I happen to have a Magnolia Tree along with other green bushes in my back yard. I trimmed leaves and stems from various plants and arranged each by placing them in the cups of water. I then added one stem of fake Craspedia Billy Balls in each pumpkin arrangement.
Such a simple and unique way to put a twist on the typical fall decor. Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box this year. You’ll be so glad you did!
