Shopkin Party

I think this was the easiest and most fun out of all of the parties I have planned. I mean, Shopkins are just SO cute, bright and fun! My daughter loved every bit of it! Oh, and this was my first time ever making a piñata! I love the taco Shopkin and couldn’t find one to purchase, so I gave it a try. I will post a separate tutorial for that soon!

I decided to turn their playroom into the PARTY ROOM! This worked out great, giving all of the kids somewhere to eat, craft and play!

Here’s a break down of this fun party!

Activities: A station for candy necklace making and Shopkin coloring, jump house and trampoline fun outside, piñata, “pin the chocolate chip on the cookie” game, and of course cake time and gift opening!

Food: Tortilla soup, beans, nachos, fruit cups with chili (thats how we do things in South Texas). There was no shortage of sweets at this party, including cake, cupcakes, and cookies, and lots of candy!

I would have to say that the cake and cookies totally stole the show. They were beyond amazing. So cute and yummy too!

My amazing friend Lauren Haines created the Happy Birthday Cookie poster for me. For the game we blindfolded the kiddos and let them try putting the chocolate chips on the cookie. It was super cute.

Mickey Mouse Birthday Party

This party was so much fun to create!

I placed a large life sized MickeyMouse at the front door, just to add some excitement for the kiddos & so that adults know to just come in. It also seemed to help with cutting back on the door bell ringing continuously.

Boy/girl treat bags ordered from Etsy.

There are few things cuter than a long toddler-sized party table! My dad made these mini picnic tables years ago, and I just LOVE them.

I bought a few yards of fabric from Joann’s craft store  and cut it to make a thin runner for the kids table & a thicker runner for the main cake table inside.

Mickey and Minnie ears were placed down the table along with red carnation flowers.

Mickey shaped ham and cheese sandwiches and fruit are the perfect toddler sized snacks.

This hot dog warmer was just the right style for a Mickey party! (Everyone knows the Hot Dog song, right?)

The vintage style cake, rice crispy treats, and cookies were so yummy & just the right style I was looking for! All of these goodies were made by Sweet Pluma Delights.

Pre party excitement. As you can see, they are not dressed yet for the party! They woke up from their naps to such a great surprise! I always plan parties around nap times. Who wants to chance having fussy kids at a party you’re hosting?

My little guy loves to swim. He swims with no floaties, and has no fear. My husband spends lots of time with the kids, teaching them to swim at an early age. It’s a must when you have a pool in your backyard.

Everyone had a blast, and so many memories were made; making all of the hard work totally worth it!

Birthday Fiesta

For Cadence’s 2nd Birthday I wanted to have an all out celebration of her life, and the joy that she brings. What is more fitting, especially in South Texas, than a FIESTA!

I just love how the Mexican style cake turned out! I typically only order an one tier cake for Birthday parties, even if we have up to 40 people attending the party. I use the cake as a main statement of the party theme, and then I make sure to order PLENTY of cupcakes. Besides, my daughter is ALL about the cupcakes.

Cactus cupcakes in small pots made for just the right cuteness factor! The kids loved being able to have their own pots that they could take to go.

For food we offered fajita tacos and numerous dips with chips.

Now for the fun part! I used to be a kindergarten teacher, so creating fun for little people is what I love. A table of instruments to dance to Spanish music and a piñata were just the right things to make this party come alive!

The kids were also able to sit at the kids table to decorate maracas. The maracas they decorated as well as mini pinatas were their party favors! You can find a simple tutorial on how to make piñata favors here.

My dad build these 4 mini picnic tables for me, and they are the most ideal for all things little.

Banners, paper flowers, and sombreros for the adult party guests all added to the fiesta fun! Overall, it was such a fun party!!
